The Balmain House

This project transformed the original front of a 140 year old Balmain weatherboard cottage, to create a functional, calming and ‘future proofed’ space for my clients to be able to age with ease.

The renovation included a new ensuite and WIR created off the master bedroom, complete update of the main bathroom, beautiful bespoke cabinets and joinery and a new gas fireplace. In addition we replaced carpet, ceiling fans, window coverings, refurbishment of artworks and the home freshly painted throughout.

New furniture in soothing earthy and natural tones were introduced that harmonise beautifully with some original timber pieces which hold great sentimental value to the family. We sourced custom fabric inspired by the Australian landscape for some old chairs that adds a beautiful bespoke touch to these pieces that hold great value to my clients but were feeling tired and out of place in the space.

What was already a very special and unique property, facing North to Cockatoo Island and the Parramatta River, is now a fully cohesive, timeless and soothing space to live.
